The teaser of Dhanush‘s much-anticipated film, Karnan, is all set to be unveiled on March 23. Post the success of Pariyerum Perumal, Mari Selvaraj announced that he will be teaming up with Dhanush in his second directorial venture, Karnan. Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, under his banner V Creations, this film will address an important social issue similar to the director’s debut film.
Mari Selvaraj revealed that the Karnan teaser will be out on March 23. He shared a new poster and wrote, “Excited to release #KarnanTeaser on March 23 #Karnan @theVcreations @dhanushkraja @Music_Santhosh @thenieswar @EditorSelva @RamalingamTha @thinkmusicindia @LaL_Director @rajishavijayan @KarnanTheMovie (sic).”
Within a few minutes, fans started trending hashtag #Karnanteaser on social media.
The film was recently under controversy for various reasons. Pandarathi Puranam, the second single from Karnan, released on March 2 and received an overwhelming response from the audience. However, Prabhu, a resident of Madurai has filed a petition with the Madurai High Court claiming that the lyrics hurt the sentiments of certain communities in Tamil Nadu.
In his petition, he requested a ban on the release of Karnan till the Pandarathi Purnanam song is removed from the film and the censor certificate for the song be revoked. The judges, who heard the petition, have adjourned the case till April 16.
The court also ordered to send legal notices to the makers of Karnan, YouTube, and the censor board. If the case becomes strong, then the release of Karnan might be postponed.
Dhanush has joined hands for the first time with director Mari Selvaraj for Karnan. On Valentine’s Day, the makers of Karnan announced that the film will release in theatres on April 9.
The film is tipped to be a hard-hitting thriller. Karnan, produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu’s V Creations, stars Rajisha Vijayan, Lal, Gouri G Kishan, Yogi Babu, and others as part of the supporting cast.
