Nagpur: The last date of admissions to be done under Right To Education Act (RTE) in schools has been extended till April 29. Earlier, the last date for the admissions was April 20.
The Director (Education), Primary Education Directorate, has taken the decision of extending the date. Rohini Kumbhar, Education Officer (Primary), Zilla Parishad in a press release said, “The parents of the wards whose names are selected for the admission received the SMS to this effect.If parents have not received any SMS, they can check it on ‘www.student.maharashtra.gov.in under Applicationwise Details. Parents should avail the opportunity of the date extension. They also should contact the office of Taluka-level scrutiny committee with all the necessary documents.
The Education Officer has appealed to parents not to bring the child to the scrutiny committee office. In Nagpur 31,411 students have applied to get the admission under Right to Education Act (RTE) in schools. There are 663 schools where the quota of 25% seats is kept for the admissions to be made under RTE. After the final scrutiny 6,106 are found eligible to get admissions.
In Nagpur 2,114 candidates have confirmed their admissions. The lottery draw was conducted on March 30, 2022. They have to take admissions in the schools allotted to them, which will be mandatory. Parents can not insist on getting admission to their wards in a particular school, the Education Department has made it clear.
