Nagpur: Nagpur police seems to be on a raiding spree to bust sex rackets in the city for the last few days. During this, the police have now busted yet another high profile sex racket in the upmarket Bajaj Nagar area of the city. The sex racket was being run inside the Ashish Tower Building. Police have arrested two youths in this regard and rescued two girls.
According to the information provided by the police, they received information about a high profile sex racket being operated from Ashish Tower, in Bajaj Nagar of Nagpur. After verification of the information, police zeroed in on the building and raided the flat on Saturday evening and busted the sex racket.
The accused have been identified as Swapnil Vijay Gupta, 25, a resident of Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, Vikky Devanand Khobragade, 24, a resident of Indira Mata Nagar, Hingna Road, Nagpur, Rupesh Gautam Thakur, 24, a resident of Rajeev Nagar, Zenda Chowk, Hingna, Nagpur.
The accused jointly ran the sex racket at Bajaj Nagar in Nagpur. They would take advantage of the poor financial condition of the victims and forced them into prostitution. During the raid, police arrested Vikky Devanand Khobragagde and Rupesh Gautam Thakur, while Swapnil Gupta managed to escape the scene.
An offence has been registered against both the accused under relevant sections of the Act. Police rescued two girls from the spot who have been sent to rescue home. Further investigations are on.
