To provide end to end connectivity to commuters, Maha Metro has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bounce company to start its mobike sharing services in Nagpur. This service will allow users to pick up a scooter or bicycle from anywhere, ride it to their destination and drop it off to any location in the city.
As soon as Nagpur Metro will launch its services in the city, Bounce will provide scooters and bicycles to the passengers. This will reduce financial as well as physical burden of commuters to reach Metro stations from their work station or home. This service will be available at all 40 stations of Nagpur Metro, a senior officer of Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Limited (NMRCL) informed. The scooter and bicycles will be GPS enabled and it will be available in subscription model for daily commuters and key less model for monthly commuters. Recently, Dr Brijesh Dixit has signed MoU with founder of Bounce H R Vivekananda.
Presently, this service is available at 36 metro stations in Bengaluru while it has also provided bicycle services in closed complex in Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Indore.
Recently, Ambassador of France Alexandre Ziegler, Ambassador of Germany Dr Martin Ney visited South Airport Station with Ramnath Subramaniam, Executive Director, and Mahesh Gupta, Joint General Manager (Multi Model Integration) Maha Metro to know details about project and Bounce facilities. They appreciated team Maha Metro for this venture.
The company will provide electric scooters, normal scooters and bicycles. If any person will go to his/her home in the night, he/she can park the vehicle at their home and in the morning they can come back to the station with same vehicles, an officer told.
This technology-enabled solution aims to provide low cost transportation to cover short distances in less time. This system is also financial viable as it is not possible for ordinary person to pay heavy amount for hiring auto-rickshaws. The company has developed a mobile application to locate nearest bike. The users will have to confirm booking, then he/she would get an OTP number to use vehicle. The payment is also available on-line, the officer added.
