Four persons were booked by Lakadganj police for negligent driving after a video of youths sitting on the roof of a car went viral on social media.
The accused have been identified as car driver Shahid Sheikh (27), a resident near Gopalkrishna lawn, Wathoda; car owner Riyans Dhumraj Rahangdale (27), a resident of Plot No. 73, Vaishno Devi Nagar, Wathoda Ring Road; Harshal Vinod Abgad (20), a resident of Ambedkar Chowk, Nandanvan and Rishabh Deorao Ganvir (27), a resident of Deshpande Layout, Wardhaman Nagar.
According to police, a video of two youngsters sitting on the roof of a moving car went viral on social media.
The Nagpur Traffic police also received the video on its Twitter handle on Saturday. The police swung into action and nabbed the youths.
The police found the Honda City car (MH-31/GB-1220) near Prajapati Chowk within 30 minutes.
Rahangdale, Abgad and Ganvir were
caught by the police and handed over to Lakadganj police for further action.
An offense under Sections 279 and 336 of the Indian Penal Code read with Section 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act was registered by Lakadganj police.
