The main objective of World Orange Festival is to encourage and empower the hard work done by farmers to produce oranges of the best quality and to buoy the identity of the ‘Orange City’ to the world.

The festival is supported by the Maharashtra Government and Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC).

Spread over three days, it shall also have a strong business angle that will focus on exhibitions, seminars and the participation of orange farmers from 10 other states in the country.

International orange cultivators and technology experts from Israel, Turkey and South Africa will also attend the fest.

Commenting on the initiative, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “For years, Nagpur has been producing oranges that match international quality standards. However, Nagpur has not got due recognition globally. Through this project, we hope to up the brand value of Nagpur oranges on a global level and thereby bring more income to the farmers here.”
