NMC makes arrangements for 390 artificial lakes at 204 different places in city for immersion purpose
With a view to promoting eco-friendly immersion of Ganesh idols, Nagpur Municipal Corporation has made available a web link for providing a facility to the citizens to know information about various artificial tanks prepared for immersion in ten zones in the city.
The citizens can visit the web link: https://www.nmcnagpur.gov.in//visarjan- location to know the immersion places nearer to their homes, said Radhakrishnan B, Municipal Commissioner and Administrator of NMC, on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, NMC has created 390 artificial tanks at 204 different places in the city covering all the ten zones. It has created artificial tanks at various squares and grounds for immersion of Ganesh idols below four feet in height. It has also made arrangement for iron tanks at Futala, Sonegaon, Gandhisagar, Sakkardara and other lakes for immersion of idols as well as placed big urns to collect pooja waste materials. NMC workers and volunteers will collect such materials that would be used for producing fertilizer. Moreover, the corporation has put up barricades near the lakes and installing highmast lights at the immersion places.
Volunteers of Green Vigil Foundation will be present towards Airforce side at Futala lake, King Cobra Organisation at Sakkardara lake, CFDF at Sonegaon lake, Eco-Friendly Foundation at Ramnagar, Tejaswini Mahila Mandal at Empress Mills, Nisarg Vigyan Sanstha at Gandhisagar lake and Green Earth Organisation at Sonegaon side. NMC has kept ready its machinery for solving any difficulties during the ten-day Ganesh festival.
