Nagpur : Nagpur’s Amma Football Club is organising a Vidarbh-level women’s football tournament in memory of Late Leena Paul from December 14 to 17.
The tournament, being organised in association with Nagpur District Football Association (NDFA), will be held at DSA Ground of Ajni railway quarters in Ajni. In the floodlight tournament, 7 A side matches will be played.
Addressing a press conference at SJAN on Wednesday, the office-bearers of Amma Football Club said that on the first day, a match between Nagsevan and Shakti Girls Krida Vikas will be played.
The inauguration will be graced by Girish Pandav, corporator Praful Gudadhe Patil, DCP Nilesh Bharne, Chairman of NMC’s Sports and culture committee Nagesh Sahare and others.
25 teams will be participating in the tournament. The winning team will be given Rs. 15,000 in cash, medals and track suits. The runner up will get Rs. 10,000 in cash and medals. Other players will also receive consolation prizes. The tournament will conclude on December 20.
