UP ATS Gets Three-day Transit Remand of Alleged Pak Spy Nishant Agarwal

Nagpur: The Nagpur Sessions Court on Tuesday granted three-day transit remand of Brahmos engineer Nishant Agarwal to Uttar Pradesh ATS.

Agarwal was arrested on Monday on charges of spying. Agarwal, a DRDO employee, was nabbed for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence. He allegedly chatted with Pakistan-based IDs on social media, said Aseem Arun, IG UP ATS.

Agarwal’s personal computer was also seized during a raid at his residence in Nagpur. “Very sensitive info was found on his personal computer…We also found evidence of him chatting on facebook with Pakistan based IDs,” Arun was quoted as saying. Agarwal was working at the Brahmos Unit in Nagpur.

The facility where Agarwal worked makes BrahMos missile fuel. As per media reports, Agarwal had previously leaked sensitive information to the United States as well.
