Nagpur : Two youths allegedly gang raped a 14-year-old deaf and mute girl in Nandanvan on Wednesday afternoon. According to police, the victim’s uncle went to his brother’s house in Nandanvan to meet his relatives. As his deaf and mute niece was not seen in the house, he enquired about her.
He was told that she had gone to Vinod Narsingh Tadi’s house in same locality. He then went to Vinod’s house. He saw Vinod Tadi (19) sitting in drawing room. He asked him about his niece. Suddenly, he saw Shubham alias Hrithik Shriram Gangaboir (18), a resident of 121, Rawan Nagar, Wathoda, coming out and his niece crying.
On seeing her uncle, she explained her ordeal to him with sign language. The victim’s uncle immediately lodged a complaint with Nandanvan Police who registered an offence under Sections 376(g) of the IPC, read with Sections 4 and 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, against Vinod and Shubham. Later, cops arrested the accused youths.
