Nagpur : The use of 5 dimensional building information module (BIM) has saved time and cost of Nagpur Metro Project to a great extent, Maha Metro MD Dr Brijesh Dixit said here on Tuesday. In fact, use of the technology has also been advantageous for Pune Metro, which is also being implemented by MahaMetro, he added.
Dr Dixit was addressing a high-power delegation of Tata Group, comprising various units like Tata Sons and Tata Realty & Infrastructure Limited (TRIL) at the Conference Hall of Metro Bhavan, in the city.
Tata Group delegation was briefed about implementation of 5D BIM and digital platform in project execution and also the initiative taken by MahaMetro in this regard. The delegation was also taken to Metro’s War Room where the team saw live demonstration of 5D BIM. The team also visited Metro stations of Airport South, New Airport Station and Khapri to get the first hand experience of automatic fare collection (AFC) system.
The Tata Group officials discussed various other initiatives taken by MahaMetro during execution of Nagpur and Pune Metro project.
Interestingly, TRIL is actively co-ordinating with MahaMetro for construction of one of the lines of Pune Metro project. Maha Metro was represented by Sunil Mathur, Director (Rolling Stock & Systems), S Sivamathan, Director (Finance), Vinod Agrawal, ED (T&O), Anil Kokate, Geneal Manager (Admin), Ms Neelam Chandra, GM (IT & Electrical) and other senior officials.
