Smruti Bhavan is place of inspiration for RSS: Bhagwat

Nagpur : Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghachalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat on Friday inaugurated the new building of Smruti Bhavan and described entire campus as the sacred place revered by millions of Swayamsevaks.

“The place was karmabhoomi of RSS founder Dr Hedgewar, Guruji and Balasaheb Deoras,” Dr Bhagwat stated while recalling their great contribution in strengthening the work of RSS since last eight decades.

Sarkaryavah Bhaiyyaji Joshi and Mahanagar Sanghachalak Shridhar Gadge were seated on the dais. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, RSS functionary Dr Manmohan Vaidya, Rajya Sabha MP Dr Vikas Mahatme, Minister of State Madan Yerawar, Jitendranath Maharaj, Mayor Nanda Jichkar, ex-MP Ajay Sancheti, Pramilatai Medhe, Rashtra Sevika Samiti Chief Shantakka, legislators Vikas Kumbhare, Dr Milind Mane, Parinay Fuke, Sandip Joshi and others were prominently present.

Describing Sangh work as “Ishwariya Karya (God’s work)” the RSS chief exhorted the RSS workers to take inspiration from life and works of RSS founder, Guruji and late Balasaheb Deoras and continue the tradition of selfless dedication for the betterment of nation. While tracing the contribution of first three RSS chiefs in shaping Smruti Mandir which is intrinsically linked to RSS growth, Dr Bhagwat asserted that Sangh work will go on as per its own pace since it has been blessed by millions of patriots who have sacrificed their lives for this divine cause.

With massive expansion of RSS and its affiliates, need was felt to create more space to accommodate more people at Reshimbag, the RSS chief stated. Reshimbag is nerve centre of RSS work and major events like third year training camp, Pratinidhi Sabha are organised here since decades, he noted while patting the Swayamsevaks for creating a better facility keeping in mind, the extreme weather condition of Nagpur.

In his introductory remarks, Shridhar Gadge, the old office building with residential facility near the entrance of Smruti Mandir premises was constructed way back in 1962. The new building has been constructed out of contributions made by Swayamsevaks. RSS Chief and Sarkaryavah felicitated engineers, architects and others who helped in shaping this new Smruti Bhavan building.

The new four-storeyed building has been constructed to house office of Dr Hedgewar Smarak Samiti, residential accommodation for RSS Chief and Sarkaryavah on first floor along with ample space for other functionaries assisting them. There are four meeting halls, one exhibition hall in the basement, two dining rooms, pantry, 40 rooms. The entire construction is spread over 40,000 sq ft.
