The Smart City development project of Nagpur got a further boost on Thursday when Korea Land and Housing Corporation (KLHC) of the Republic of Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) in this regard.
Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra; Park Sang Woo, Chief Executive Officer of KLHC; Ashwin Mudgal, Municipal Commissioner of Nagpur; Praveen Pardeshi, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, and other top officials of Korean delegation were present during the MoU signing ceremony held in Mumbai for Smart City development. The MoU was signed for ‘strategic partnership for Nagpur Smart City’.
Park Sang Woo and Ashwin Mudgal signed the MoU and exchanged the files. The MoU is for co-operation to share implementation strategy, policies, technologies, experience and information in the field of development, operations and maintenance of Smart City, citizen-friendly governance, and cost-effectiveness.
Fadnavis said that the MoU was important for Nagpur city’s development into a Smart City. With this MoU, he said, the works of Nagpur Smart City would get expedited. Park Sang Woo said that Korea and India enjoyed friendly relations and the MoU would strengthen the bond further. “We will give our best to Smart City development. A joint office will be started in Mumbai soon,” he said.
Later, Devendra Fadnavis tweeted, “Korea is trusted partner of Maharashtra and with this MoU we expect actual action and work on ground very soon. We intend for more & more collaboration with Korea in future too.”
