Short film by team of Nagpur men bags three awards at India Film Project

Nagpur : A team from Nagpur led by Dr Rishab Joshi brought home three awards at India Film Project for their short film ‘Wake up!’ which was screened at Nehru centre, Mumbai.

India Film Project 50-hour film-making challenge is celebrating its 8th season and is Asia’s largest content creation festival held annually in Mumbai. A total of 32,000 film-makers participated from 11 countries in the grand event.

Dr Rishab Joshi, a dentist who works at VSPM Dental College Nagpur, and son of well-known Dentist Dr Shyamkant Joshi, has a passion for photography and film-making. This is his first short film under the banner of ‘not.just.a.dentist’ films.

Wake up!’, the film is about a guy from Nagpur who suffers from narcolepsy and insomnia and starts experiencing sudden changes in his life which ultimately lead to fulfillment of his wishes.

The three awards are — 5 Best film of the year, Best script of the year (Dr Rigved Joshi, also son of Dr Shyamkant Joshi), and Best actor of the year (Santosh Hirasinghani).

Entire film was shot in Nagpur at various places like Candle Light restaurant, The Dental Park, Asia Renal Care Hospital, and various streets of the city.
