The dream of operation of sea plane from Ambazari Lake will be a reality soon. Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) is ready to provide viability gap fund (VGF) for the operation of the Sea Plane in the city.
Board of Trustees of NIT has cleared the proposal of sea plane in the meeting held on Tuesday. The board meeting also accorded green signal to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maharashtra Maritime Board for the operation of sea plane.
It may be mentioned that Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways are taking efforts to fly sea plane in Maharashtra and especially from Nagpur.
Virendra Kukreja, Standing Committee Chairman said, the decision of NIT will pave way for the operation of sea plane in Nagpur. The operator is mulling a proposal to operate it from Ambazari, Gorewada or Kolar in Koradi. The operator will provide all the basic facilities and create infrastructure for the operation of the plane.
NIT to demolish Futala lakeside shops
NIT will demolish Futala lakeside shops, said Ashwin Mudgal, Chairman of NIT. He said, the Trust has prepared a plan for the overall development of Futala Lake. We will develop a viewers gallery for Light and Sound Show, Musical Fountain in the lake.
He said, the lease of the shops has been over and we did not renew it therefore, they are doing their business illegally. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has sanctioned funds for the development of Futala and Ambazari Lakes.
