Sanju box office collection Day 1 : Sanjay Dutt’s biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju finally hit the screens on Friday (June 29), and is expected to set new box office records.
The Sanjay Dutt biopic has been directed by Rajkumar Hirani, whose films like PK and 3 Idiots have emerged as blockbusters at the box office. Even ahead of its release, Sanju created quite a buzz.
Sanju had made Rs 34.75 crore on its first day. In addition, Ranbir’s ardent fans are expected to continue to flood the theatres.
This footfall will help the film rake in Rs 100 crore in just 3 days, not unlike Salman Khan’s Race 3.This is quite commendable, considering th film did not release on any festive holiday.
Sanju might prove to be the much-needed relief for Ranbir, who was in desperate need of a hit, as many of his previous films have been flopping at the box office.
Sanju has mostly garnered positive reactions from critics and the audience, and Ranbir’s performance in the film has been praised to the heavens. Ranbir has nailed Dutt’s accent and mannerisms perfectly.
Sanju has an ensemble cast that includes Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal and Manisha Koirala.
