Nagpur : Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and union minister Nitin Gadkari have proposed to develop a world class Nagpur International Convention and Exhibition Centre (NICE) with mono rail connectivity on 108 acres at Mihan. The two ministers also directed the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) to plan expansion of MIHAN by getting additional land.
Fadnavis and Gadkari held a meeting on Sunday at Ramgiri to review a slew of developmental projects proposed in the city. Centre Point Group of Companies in association with US-based Tricon Infrastructures and Prognosis made a presentation about NICE at an estimated cost of over Rs 10,000 crore. Jasbir Singh, Angad Arora, architect Vilas Kale, Arjun Arora, Faisun Hasanji , and Mustafa Hasanji gave the presentation.
It has been proposed with 1.85 lakh sq ft built-up area with a stadium of 25,000-40,000 capacity, convention centre with 10,000 seating capacity, multipurpose halls, food plazas, five-star hotel, commercial plaza, open space for expos, iconic tower with revolving restaurant etc. A mono rail will connect it with new airport and other destinations in Mihan and metro rail stations of the area.
