Raman Science Centre Presents ‘Raman Festival of Innovation’

An annual event of the Innovation Centre, Raman Science Centre will be organising the ‘Raman Festival of Innovation’ for the first time during February 15 – 17, 2018. ‘Raman Festival of Innovations’ in today’s world of ‘Innovation’ is the buzzword. It is important for the advancement of society around the world. New and innovative products can increase the standard of living and provide people with opportunities to improve their lives.

Innovation has also lead to significant improvements in the way businesses operate. Due to factors such as globalization and outsourcing, there is an increased push to improve efficiency and effectiveness of a product/ process. Everywhere they require innovative processes and products that can drive down costs and improve productivity.

To support the growing demand of the culture of innovation in the world, Raman Science Centre, Nagpur has opened a new facility titled ‘Innovation Centre’. Students get opportunity to try their innovative ideas at the Centre.

A section of this festival will be ‘Innovative Project Competition’ for students of High School, Higher Secondary, Under Graduate, Post Graduate students of any faculty and also students of any faculty of Diploma and Engineering, any Hobbyist Innovator not belonging to any institution can also participate.

Start-up activities will also be considered for the festival. Raman Science Centre invites two innovative projects from a school /college to participate in the competition. The project could be an innovative 3D working model or any innovative research based project /process developed by the students. The project can be Individual or by a team of maximum two students. The factor of innovation is expected to be there.

The students are requested to send summary / synopsis of their project (in maximum 500 words) along with diagram/sketch. The competition will be adjudged in four different categories, i.e. School students, Science Graduate and Post Graduate and Engineering students. All the participants will have to present with their project during the festival to explain it to visitors. The successful innovators will be suitably awarded.

School and college authorities may nominate two innovative projects from their institution. The last date for sending the entries with project summary/synopsis is February 7, 2018. More information and registration form is available for download on www.rscnagpur.gov.in.
