PV Sindhu settles for silver, loses to Japan’s Okuhara in final

PV Sindhu settled for silver as she went down to Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara in an hour and 50 minutes in the women’s singles final of the World Championships in Glasgow on Sunday.
Sindhu and Okuhara played relentless badminton in the longest match of the tournament but the Indian lost 19-21, 22-20, 20-22 to Okuhara’s.

India, however, returned with two medals thanks to Sindhu’s silver and Saina Nehwal’s bronze. Interestingly. Okuhara beat both the Indian girls en route to Japan’s first world title. In the semis too, she survived a three-game clash against Nehwal.
