Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Nagpur city to inaugurate Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Mahamarg and the First Phase of Nagpur Metro on December 11, 2022.
The programs will be held at two different places. The first program will be held at Nagpur Airport Metro Station. The prime minister will dedicate two routes of Metro Phase 1, thereafter he will depart for the inauguration of Samruddhi Mahamarg at Waiphal Toll Post.
Although a proper schedule and program haven’t been announced yet, the arrival of the Prime Minister is certain. The preparations and arrangements for his arrival and inauguration have been started.
The inauguration of Samruddhi Mahamarg and Nagpur’s Metro Reach 4 that is Central Avenue has been on hold for many days.
Out of the 520 km first phase of Samruddhi Mahamarg, the 491 km stretch between Nagpur and Shirdi is ready for vehicular traffic. The 210 km stretch between Nagpur and Shelu Bazar has been completed. A 281-km stretch between Malegaon and Shirdi is also ready.
The 700-km long Expressway between Nagpur-Mumbai has a total of eight wildlife overpasses and twenty-two wildlife underpasses. The expressway passes via Bor Tiger Reserve and many other sensitive zones.
The speed limit has been set by MSRDC of 120 km/h for the expressway which will bring travel time between Nagpur- Mumbai to 8-10 hours from the existing 16-18 hours.
MSRDC has proposed a toll of Rs 1212 as one way for light motor vehicles like cars and jeeps. The entire stretch of the Mumbai-Nagpur expressway will have 26 toll booths.
Final touches are being given to Samruddhi Mahamarg Expressway by MSRDC for the inauguration.
