Preparation Tips To Crack AIIMS 2018

There is no need to bring to your attention the reputation of the All India Institutes of Medical Science (AIIMS) hospitals in the country. Annually, AIIMS conducts an online entrance examination for an admission to the MBBS courses at AIIMS, New Delhi, and eight other AIIMS around India (Patna, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Bhubaneswar, Rishikesh, Raipur, Guntur and Nagpur).

AIIMS stands as one of the top medical entrance examinations in the country and sits only behind the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). This prestigious medical entrance examination is all set to take place on May 26 and 27, 2018, in various exam centres spread across the country. Hardly, a week left for the examination, so students should be juggling with their books during the final phase of their preparations. Here are the last-week preparation tips for the AIIMS exam.

Go With Your Mock Tests

We always recommend that students keep the last one week to take mock tests and revise everything they’ve studied. If you are one amongst the students following this practise, you’re on the right path. The mock tests will also help the students learn the necessary time management skills. Along with mock tests, one should also give a reasonable amount of time to studying the concepts.

Devote Time For Self-study

During the last week, one should devote at least 9-10 hours on self-studying. Start with any of the subjects and try to finish it off by the end of the day. This will give you enough time for other subjects on the last day besides boosting your confidence.

Believe In Your Strategies

It is very obvious many students will start adopting new shortcuts and strategies during the last phase of their preparations. This is not encouraged. For the good or bad, believe in your strategies and follow them without any second opinion throughout your preparations.

Revise The Basic Concepts Effectively

Go back to the basics and do your best to strengthen your knowledge of the concepts in each subject. The basic concepts are required for the overall understanding of the topic. Spend at least 2-3 hours of time for each subject to work on this area.

Use NEET Preparation For AIIMS

Students who are going to take the AIIMS exam must have appeared for NEET. If you are one amongst them, there is nothing wrong in using the NEET preparation material for this exam. We also suggest you solve the NEET practise papers.

Focus On The General Knowledge

Unlike other medical entrance exams, AIIMS also tests the candidates on their general knowledge. One has to take advantage of this section because it increases the chances of qualifying for the next step in the admission process. Never get into the details of the concepts at this stage and practise solving the previous years’ question papers to gain command over this GK section. Never compromise on reading about the current affairs even on the last day.

Avoid Distractions

What you have learned in the last week plays a significant role on the exam day. Avoid all the distractions that include IPL and social networking sites, such as Facebook and WhatsApp. A cent percent focus is required to taste success in AIIMS.

Enjoy Preparing For The Exam

Students should not allow any exam stress to seep in during the final phase of the preparations because it costs more on the D-day. Do your best while reading and at the same time stay away from distracting activities. Always believe in your strength and keep the good work going for one last week. Good luck!
