Realme 1, the new smartphone from Oppo’s sub-brand Realme will go on its first sale today. The smartphone will be available for purchase exclusively on Amazon India at 12:00PM. The smartphone is being targeted at young online buyers and comes with a design that is unique to the segment.
Oppo is the third-largest smartphone brand in India and the new product is the first device being offered exclusively to the online retail segment. The smartphone ditches the generic design in favor of a design that is found on company’s premium device like the Oppo F7. During the first sale, the smartphone will be offered with 5 percent cash back for those using SBI credit or debit card. Realme 1 buyers will also be eligible for cashback up to Rs 5,000 from Reliance Jio and Prime deliveries.
Realme 1 price in India and variants
Realme 1 comes in two storage variants with the base model offering 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. It is priced at Rs 8,990. There is also a higher-end model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, which is priced at Rs 13,990. The smartphone will be available in Diamond Black and Solar Red color.
Realme 1 specifications and features
Oppo Realme 1‘s most distinctive feature is its design, which seems highly premium for its budget price tag. The smartphone features metal unibody design with a diamond black finish that seems similar to reflective glass surface. The smartphone features a 6-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio.
Under the hood, there is a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset based on 12nm process coupled with Mali-G72 MP3 graphics processor. The smartphone is available with either 3GB or 6GB of RAM and 32GB or 128GB of internal storage. Realme says it will also add a variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage at a later stage.
On the camera front, the Realme 1 features a 13-megapixel main camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus, 1080p video recording and LED flash. At the front, it gets an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and support for Oppo’s AI algorithm. The Realme 1 skips out on fingerprint sensor but uses facial unlock. The Realme 1 includes connectivity features like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G LTE. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based on ColorOS 5.0 and is backed by a 3,410mAh battery.
