Nokia 2 shows up on AnTuTu, specifications leaked ahead of 31 October launch

The specifications of the entry-level Nokia 2 smartphone have finally leaked out online thanks to a leaked AnTuTu screenshot. The device is expected to be launched on 31 October in India and packs in the very basics to run Android on smartphone.

According to a report on NokiaPowerUser .com that leaked out the AnTuTu screenshot, the Nokia 2 comes pre-loaded with Android Nougat (7.1.1). The device features a 5 MP selfie camera and an 8 MP primary camera at the rear. The Nokia is expected to feature 8 GB of internal storage, a measly 1 GB RAM and runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 chipset.

This entry-level device from Nokia (and HMD) features an HD display with 720 x 1,280 resolution. Previous leaks suggest that the device will come with a 4,000 mAh battery.



Nokia has already sent invites for a launch even on 31 October without giving out any hint as to what devices are expected to be launched. The Nokia 2 was recently spotted on one of the US online retail website Best Buy’s for $99. The listing was later taken down by the website.

Nokia is also expected to launch Nokia 7 at the launch event on 31 October. The Nokia 7 has been already launched in China and it 7 comes with a 7000-series aluminum frame with diamond-cut bevelled edges. The glass back is made out of vacuum-moulded 3D Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone comes with IP54 certification making it splash-proof as well. If launched, expect the Nokia 7 to arrive in Gloss Black and Matte White finishes.

In terms of internal hardware, the Nokia 7 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC, which is paired either 4 GB RAM or 6 GB RAM. It has 64 GB of onboard storage which is expandable using a microSD card. The chipset houses an octa-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at up to 2.2 GHz. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 508 GPU.

The Nokia 7 sports a 5.2-inch FullHD IPS LCD display with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and HMD Global has promised an Android Oreo update soon.


In terms of connectivity, you get Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with A-GPS, USB Type-C port, NFC, 3.5mm Audio jack and LTE Cat 6 support. There is fingerprint sensor on the rear side just under the primary camera.





The Nokia 7 sports a 16 MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a dual-tone LED flash unit. On the front, you get a 5 MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture with 1.4 micron pixel size. The Nokia 7 comes with a Zeiss imaging experience which lets you capture Bothies — a feature where the front and rear cameras can be used simultaneously. The phone also comes with Nokia OZO audio built in for recording sound.
