National level workshop on tiger conservation begins at Pench

Nagpur : National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) and Pench Tiger Reserve has organised a three day national level conference on saving tiger, tranquilizing, rescuing, rehabilitating and developing skills, at Amaltas Tourist Complex, Sillari.

The main objective of this workshop was to train all the veterans and wild life staff members, due to a notable increase in man animal conflict situations in India. Approximately 5 personnel including 10 from Maharashtra are take part in the workshop.

Member Secretary NTCA, Delhi inaugurated the workshop on Thursday, whereas, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Protection), Nagpur was the chief guest of the workshop.

While addressing the audience, Dr. Nayak informed that NTCA in interested in strengthening the States to take hold of emergency situation and constructively handling the man – animal conflict.

Hooda addressed that there is a need for making modification in the standard operating procedure about rescue operation in the present situation.

Chief Wildlife Warden, Maharashtra, Nitin Kakodkar, will be the chief guest at the concluding function, which is to take place on February 23.
