Nagpur: In association with Shri Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal (NHAI), the National Highway Authority of India will celebrate International Yoga Day at Kasturchand Park, Nagpur. Rajev Agrawal CGM and Regional Officer of NHAI, made this announcement in a press conference. The Ministry of Ayush has selected Nagpur as one of 75 national landmarks for the ‘International Yoga Day’ celebrations. This is part of the ‘Azadika Amrit Mahotsav year.
The programme’s theme is “Yoga for Humanity”. Yoga will be performed simultaneously by 75 iconic locations in India and 75 from overseas. The event will be telecast worldwide on DD India.
The event in Nagpur will begin at 5.30 AM with an address from Rambhau Khandwe Guruji (President of Shri Janardan Swaami Yogabhyasi Mandal). Participants will be addressed by Nitin Gadkari (Union Minister for Road Transport and Shipping). From 6.40 am to 7.40 am, the national address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi can also be viewed virtually. The mass yoga demonstration will take place from 7 am to 7.40 AM.
The yoga demonstration will be attended by officials of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), Nagpur Collectorate (SCZCC), all Governmental and semi-Government organisations, NCC cadets and NSS cadets, as well as students from schools and colleges.
The press conference was attended by Rambhau Khandwe Guruji, Naresh Valdetwar, GM(Tech), NHAI, Satish Janwe and N L Yetkar, GM(T&PD) as well as Milind Wazalwar (Secretary, Shri Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal).
