Nagpur to get international-level airport : Gadkari

Date:

Nagpur : Union road transport minister MP Nitin Gadkari on Friday hinted that the city is set to get a new international-level airport soon and said chief minister Devendra Fadnavis will make an announcement in this regard on Republic Day.

Gadkari was speaking during the inaugural ceremony of the three-day Youth Empowerment Summit (YES), along with Fadnavis, organized by MLA Anil Sole’s brainchild Fortune Foundation at Dr Vasantrao Deshpande hall.

He said that for any region to flourish economically, there are basic requirements of electricity, water, infrastructure and communication. After the commencement of Metro, Vidarbha will have all that is necessary for economic boom, which in turn will provide employment opportunities to the youth.

“Creating employment opportunities for the youth is the biggest challenge for any growing economy like ours. We have the manpower, we have the infrastructure and industrialization ready. We only need to provide a platform to bridge the gap between these two,” said Gadkari.

“Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and I are both from Nagpur and had decided to provide employment to at least 50,000 youths of Vidarbha,” he said.
