Google Chrome has a new horizontal tab switcher being tested

Google is testing a new feature in Chrome mobile for Android right now that changes the tab switcher from a vertical layout to a horizontal one.

When you open the list of all tabs in Google Chrome mobile right now on Android, you get the list of open tabs and the sites loaded in those tabs. The sites are stacked vertically with one site displayed fully and others in front or behind the active tab.

Touch controls are provided to scroll though the list of open tabs and to load any tab that is open using the tab switcher.

Experimental features may come and go unannounced. While many make it into the stable version of Chrome eventually, the past has shown that some are removed again without being implemented at all.

The most recent version of Google Chrome Canary for Android includes an experimental feature that changes the tab switching interface of the mobile browser.

Here is what you need to do right now to enable the new horizontal tab switcher in the Chrome Canary:

  1. Make sure you have the most recent version of Chrome Canary for Android installed on your device. You can run the browser next to the stable version of Chrome or any other browser.
  2.  Start Google Chrome Canary on the device.
  3.  Load chrome://flags in the browser’s address bar.
  4.  Search for enable horizontal tab switcher, or go to  chrome://flags/#enable-horizontal-tab-switcher to jump directly to it.
  5.  Flip the preference from “default” to “enabled”.
  6.  Restart the mobile browser with a tap on the relaunch now button.

You will notice that the display of open tabs changed when you open the list of open tabs after the restart.

IPL 2018 Final : Watson’s unbeaten hundred hands Chennai Super Kings third IPL crown

IPL 2018 : Chennai Super Kings

Shane Watson cracked a stupendous century and along with Suresh Raina whipped the Sunrisers Hyderabad attack to record an emphatic eight wicket win and help Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni lift the Indian Premier League Cup (IPL) for a third time.

Only Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma had lifted this Cup thrice before in the 11-year-old history of the IPL. Watson’s second ton of this season came after a slow start and he went on to remain unbeaten on 117 runs off 57 balls with 11 boundaries and eight sixes. Partnering Raina, Watson put on 117 runs off 9.3 overs for the second wicket.

Raina scored 32 off 24 balls with three boundaries and a six.

Earlier, Sunrisers, put in to bat, posted 178 for 6 riding on their skipper Kane Williamson’s 47 off 36 balls with five boundaries and two sixes and Yusuf Pathan’s unbeaten 45 off 25 balls with four boundaries and two sixes.

Chasing the total, Chennai got off to a slow start with Watson taking 11 balls to pick his first run. The pressure set by Watson resulted in his partner Faf Du Plessis going for a big shot but landed up being caught bowled by Sandeep Sharma for 10.

In the first five overs, Chennai could get only 20 runs. Watson started off by hitting Sharma for a six in the sixth over. He also hit Siddarth Kaul for a six over square leg. Raina who joined Watson too began to stroke fluently.

Watson and Raina punished Kaul for 17 runs in one over and took 16 runs in another over from him. The played Hyderabad’s strike bowler and second qualifier hero Rashid Khan cautiously.

In the last ten overs, Chennai Super Kings needed 99 runs and Watson raced to his half century in 33 balls. Though Raina fell in the 14th over caught behind off Carlos Brathwaite, Watson and Ambati Rayudi steered Chennai safely to the target with nine balls to spare.

Rashid Khan ‘Best Spinner In The World’ : Sachin Tendulkar

Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan starred with bat and ball to help Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) fix a date with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Sunday’s final after beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 13 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Qualifier 2 at the Eden Gardens on Friday.

Rashid first smashed a whirlwind 10-ball 34 to pull Sunrisers out of a hole and propel them to 174/7 before returning spectacular figures of 3/19 in four overs as the Kane Williamson-led franchise made their second IPL final.

After this brilliant match-winning performance, Rashid was hailed by many cricketers and one of them is all-time great Sachin Tendulkar, who claimed the Afghanistani spinner as best in the world.

Rashid Khan has impressed one and all with his skills in Indian Premier League 2018 (IPL 2018).

His performances on the cricket field has now earned the highest praise for batting legend Sachin Tendulkar who said that the Afghan spinner is the best in the world in Twenty20s.

“Always felt @rashidkhan_19 was a good spinner but now I wouldn’t hesitate in saying he is the best spinner in the world in this format. Mind you, he’s got some batting skills as well. Great guy,” tweeted Tendulkar.

Rashid gave away just three runs in the first over and accounted for Robin Uthappa (2) in the very first ball of his second over. The 19-year old then trapped KKR’s highest scorer Chris Lynn (48; 31b; 6×4, 2×6) in front to reduce the purple brigade to 108/5 from 93/2 in 10 overs.

In his last over, Rashid outfoxed Andre Russell (3) with a superb googly which the batsman tried to cut but ended up giving Shikhar Dhawan an easy catch at slip.

Nagpur guy bollywood-style propose to his girlfriend on IndiGo Airline

Nagpur Guy Propose to his girlfriend on IndiGo Airline

Aren’t you just sick and tired of hearing about all the mid-air scuffles between flyers and cabin crew or even between pilots in the cockpit? Well, we definitely are! But what finally comes as a breath of fresh air is this moment when an Indore man got down on one knee in an IndiGo aircraft and proposed to his girlfriend.

In a video that has now gone viral, the man, identified as Narendra Anandani, is seen talking on the flight intercom just as his girlfriend reaches her seat and proposing to her. Anandani is said to have come to Indore from Nagpur, just to propose to his girlfriend traveling to Goa.

The girl was reportedly surprised to hear Anandani’s voice on the intercom and slowly made her way to the front of the aircraft. Anandani then went down on his knee and popped the question.

“The girl had no idea that her lover would be at the Indore airport. She boarded her flight as usual,” the Times of India quoted Indore airport director Aryama Sanyal as saying.

While it might have been a nerve-racking moment for the man, his girl replied with a “yes” clearly making his day.

Meanwhile, the airline staff also were a part of the fancy proposal and were seen holding placards with the question: “Will you marry me?”

Though this is something that the couple will definitely remember and discuss for years to come, it might be in violation of the DGCA regulation, according to which the aircraft intercom the public address system “are tools for relaying safety information,” and must not be used otherwise.

But Sanyal has clarified that Anandani used the intercom before the plane took-off and that no safety rules were flouted. She also congratulated the team for granting permission and helping the couple make the day special. “Indigo airlines staff sprang to action and helped him propose in corridor of aero-bridge and inside aircraft,” Sanyal added.

Here’s Why You’re Getting A So Many Privacy Policy Update Emails

Here's Why You're Getting A So Many Privacy Policy Update Emails

It’s not just you. Inboxes everywhere are experiencing a flash flood of emails with the arrival of privacy policy updates and requests to opt-in to various forms of data collection.

This is happening because companies have until May 25 to be compliant with a new law called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is only in effect in the European Union. However, the internet doesn’t have easily recognizable borders. So, it’s having an impact in the United States as well. If a company collects the personal data of EU citizens, even if the company is not based in the EU, it must adhere to the new stipulations. Additionally, some companies like Microsoft are explicitly granting the protections the GDPR offers to users around the globe.

What is the GDPR?
It’s complicated. Companies were given two years to become compliant after the EU adopted the regulation in 2016. Of course, as highlighted by The Verge, there are going to be a lot of companies unprepared for Friday’s deadline.

To grossly simplify it, the GDPR is about the management of digital privacy. The law has been called one of the world’s strongest protections for digital privacy rights. It’s also been called “staggeringly complex.” Without wading into the muck, there are two tenets of the law that are the primary cause of those emails you’re getting. They were neatly summarized in a report by The New York Times: “The first is that companies need your consent to collect your data… The second is that you should be required to share only data that is necessary to make their services work.”

Here's Why You're Getting A So Many Privacy Policy Update Emails

The second point could be a little confusing, but the Times quotes Electronic Frontier Foundation director Danny O’Brien to make it easier to understand. “A birthday cake company needs your name to put on the birthday cake,” he said. “If it isn’t essential information, you can deny them consent to use that data and you still have to get the service.”

Companies are sending out these emails to share the policy changes with users and, in most cases, to request users accept the terms and opt-in to the company’s data collection policies. Companies that aren’t compliant with the regulations could be fined up to 4% of their global revenue. (Though, it remains to be seen how strictly fines and regulations will be enforced.)

Part of the reason it’s a good thing for US consumers to get peripheral benefits from these regulations is there seemed to be a security breach every week in 2017. Uber lost data on 57 million users and covered it up, Yahoo’s data breach affected a billion accounts and wasn’t announced for years, and more than 140 million people had their data hacked in the Equifax breach. People also had their data compromised in hacks of LinkedIn, Whole Foods, Chipotle, Pizza Hut, Sonic, Panera, and many more. In many cases, customers weren’t notified for an extended period of time. Under the GDPR, companies need to notify regulators of a data breach within 72 hours. The law also allows people to access the private data a company has gathered about them and offers consumers the “right to be forgotten.”

Why you should be paying attention
The bit about you only needing to share data required to make the service work is important. It’s worth slogging through that deluge of emails even though the impulse to delete them is strong. It’s abundantly clear many companies want as much of your data as possible. They’re going to make it easy for you to consent to give away your data and very difficult for you to tell them you want to withhold data that isn’t absolutely required.

In fact, some companies will take you deleting the email as consent. In Etsy’s email about the GDPR update it writes, “By continuing to use our services on or after May 23, 2018, you acknowledge our updated Privacy Policy and agree to the rest of the updated House Rules.”

Terms and Conditions, wherever they appear, aren’t read often enough, especially when you’re flooded with many requests all at once. It’s worth paying attention to find out when you can withhold your data. There isn’t a protection this strong in the US, but that doesn’t mean you can’t reap the rewards of new EU regulations.

Radheshyam Mopalwar, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of MSRDC, stated in a release on Wednesday, “With the opening of financial bids, we have achieved a milestone in the implementation process of the project. We are now very close to the historic moment of inauguration. We shall soon undertake an evaluation of the eligible bids before issuing the work orders. We are expecting beginning of the construction work for ‘Samruddhi Mahamarg’ within next two weeks.”

The project with an estimated cost of Rs 46,000 crore will connect 10 districts, 26 talukas and 392 villages in Maharashtra. Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister, treats it as his dream project. He has been reiterating that the project will help Maharashtra prosper through a holistic process that integrates road connectivity with sustainable rural development through agri-business ecosystem and multi-dimensional sub-projects.

The greenfield project will have access control. Its design and alignment is prepared as per International Road Congress (IRC) standards. ‘Samruddhi Mahamarg’ will not only connect Nagpur and Mumbai but also reduce current travel time between the two cities from 18 hours to eight hours, officials said.

So far, the Government has acquired 80.25 per cent of private and Government lands required for the project, and has paid a total compensation of Rs 4,788 crore.

AB de Villiers has announced his retirement from international cricket

Star South Africa batsman AB de Villiers has announced his decision to retire from international cricket with immediate effect, stating, via a video message, that he had “run out of gas.”

The 34-year-old batsman said ‘the time is right’ for him to hang up his boots, bringing a close to a sterling 14-year career.

The middle order batsman announced his retirement on Twitter.

“I have made a big decision today,” de Villiers posted on Twitter along with the video where he talks about his decision.

“I have decided to retire from all international cricket with immediate effect,” de Villiers said on Wednesday (May 23). “After 114 Test matches, 228 ODIs and 78 T20 Internationals, it is time for others to take over. I have had my turn, and to be honest, I am tired,” de Villiers said.

De Villiers finishes his career with a staggering 20,014 international runs (8765 in Tests, 9577 in ODIs and 1672 in T20Is) and averages over 50 in both Tests and ODIs. It was widely expected that de Villiers would play on for South Africa, at least in the limited-overs formats, until next year’s World Cup given his constant proclamations of wanting to win a major title with the national team. He has since had a change of heart.

De Villiers made his first class debut in 2003 for the Northerns against a Western Province side and made a mark almost immediately by scoring half-centuries in each innings of that game while opening the batting. In a little over a year’s time, he was fast-tracked into the Test side and opened the batting alongside Graeme Smith in the Port Elizabeth Test against England.

Faf du Plessis (67 not out) scored a match-winning half-century to help Chennai Super Kings reach their seventh Indian Premier League(IPL) final on Tuesday. The two-time champions defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by two wickets in a low-scoring thriller at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

CSK will now play the summit clash on Sunday, whereas Sunrisers have to face the winners of the Eliminator between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 for the second shot at the final on Friday.

Du Plessis completed the run chase with a six as CSK chased down the 140-run target in 19.1 overs. The South African remained unbeaten on 67 off 42 balls, which included four sixes and five fours, and added 27 runs off 8 balls with Shardul Thakur (15* off 5 balls).
Defending a modest total, Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave Sunrisers an early breakthrough by removing Shane Watson (0) in the first over. Suresh Raina though came out all guns blazing as he smacked three consecutive fours off Sandeep Sharma’s first three balls in the second over.

But the introduction of Siddarth Kaul in the fourth over changed the scenario upside down as the pacer clean bowled Raina and in-form Ambati Rayudu (0) in consecutive balls to reduce CSK to 24/3 in 3.4 overs. Raina scored 22 off 13 balls with the help of four boundaries.

The situation worsened for CSK when they lost skipper MS Dhoni (9), who missed a wrong ‘un from Rashid Khan, in the 8th over with just 39 runs on the board. CSK reached 50/4 at the halfway mark and needed 90 more off the final 10 overs.

Rashid then removed Dwayne Bravo (7) in the 12th over, before Sandeep dismissed Ravindra Jadeja in the next over to leave CSK at 62/6 in 12.3 overs.

Du Plessis though kept CSK in the hunt from the other end as he stitched a valuable 30-run stand in 2.3 overs with Deepak Chahar (10) to take the score to 92/7 in 15 overs.

Du Plessis then completed his fifty off 37 balls with the help of three sixes and three fours, while clobbering 20 off Brathwaite in the 18th over and changed the equation to 23 off 12 balls.

Shardul scored three fours off Siddarth Kaul as 17 came from the penultimate over to make the equation a comfortable six off the final over, which du Plessis did in just one ball.
Earlier, the CSK bowling attack utilised the lively pitch to the fullest as they restricted Sunrisers to a modest 139/7.

Carlos Brathwaite (43* off 29 balls), skipper Kane Willamson (24) and Yusuf Pathan (24) were the useful contributors for Sunrisers on a track that offered good bounce.
CSK pegged back Sunrisers at 47/3 after six Powerplay overs with both Williamson and opener Shikhar Dhawan (0) back in the dugout.

Dhawan played on off Deepak Chahar in the very first delivery of the match. Williamson, in red-hot form in the season, then produced three hits to the fence off the last three balls in the same over.

From the other end, Lungi Ngidi packed off the other opener Shreevats Goswami (12) by accepting a smart return catch, when the batsman tried to pull.

At 34/2, Sunrisers slipped further when Williamson feathered a catch down leg-side ball off Shardul Thakur to rival captain Dhoni to leave Hyderabad reeling at 36/3 in 4.2 overs.

CSK, attempting to make it to their seventh final in nine seasons that they have been part of IPL, struck another blow just past the Powerplay period.

Shakib Al Hasan (12) also fell to a leg-side catch by Dhoni off Dwayne Bravo (2/25) and it left Sunrisers at 50/4. After 10 overs, the score was a modest 64/4.

A late flurry from West Indian Brathwaite, who slammed Thakur for four huge sixes and a four in death overs, boosted the total significantly.

Maharashtra to get 1,000 MW solar energy from six producers

Maharashtra will now procure 1,000 MW of its total energy requirement from six solar energy producers across the country. After receiving a lukewarm response from private parties to a tender regarding procurement of 1 GW of solar energy, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) has finally received offers at lower rates.

The state-owned discom has received offers in the range of Rs 2.71 per unit and Rs 2.72 per unit, which was lower than the bids in other states, said an official from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. Eight developers participated in the auction and the discom received offers for a total of 1,450 MW.

The power will be supplied to agriculture pumps during the day. It will also help the MSEDCL attain the Renewable Purchase Obligation mandated by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) under the Electricity Act-2003 to purchase a minimum level of renewable energy out of its total consumption.

During peak seasons, the power consumption recorded by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd exceeds 23,000 MW.

In a bid to switch to renewable sources of energy, the discom had on December 21, 2017, issued a tender for the purchase of 1 GW solar energy but did not receive any responses. The tender was reissued with relaxed norms on April 9, 2018. While the last date for bid submission was April 27, it was extended further as the responses were few, said sources.

Ali Abbas Zafar took to Twitter to announce the news, “Finally it’s happening , so excited to work with you 🙂 lots of love @tublb 🙂 @Bharat_TheFilm @BeingSalmanKhan @priyankachopra @DishPatani

The film is slated to release during Eid next year.

Don’t panic, no case of Nipah virus in Maharashtra.

Don’t panic, no case of Nipah virus in Maharashtra.

Even as the deadly Nipah virus that killed 10 people in Kerala has left the people aghast and panic across the nation, Maharashtra too is no exception. Though there has been no trace or case of Nipah virus in the state, the people are already in the anxiety mode. Taking the note of the situation, the Maharashtra government on Tuesday clarified that there was no need to panic as there were no Nipah virus-affected patients in the state.

But an advisory will be issued to local bodies, state public health minister Deepak Sawant said. He appealed to people from Maharashtra not to travel to Kerala’s Kozhikode and other places affected by the virus as a precautionary measure. He said, “Nipah is not a new virus, it’s like other viruses.

It was found in West Bengal and parts of Siliguri in 1999-2000. People should take preventive measures and not panic.” People should avoid eating fruits fallen from trees in fields, jungles or other places, and isolate the patient. The state also said that if any symptoms are observed, patients should be rushed to BMC’s Kasturba hospital.

Private and government hospitals have also been alerted and instructions have been issued to Kasturba and all major government hospitals to start isolation wards, said Sawant.

The minister held a highlevel meeting on Tuesday at the state secretariat to discuss measures to be taken.

The meeting was attended by Dr Pradip Vyas, principal secretary, public health department, Dr Samjeev Kumar, commissioner of National Health Mission, Dr Samjeev Kamble, director, health, Dr Sanjiv Kamble, Dr Om Shrivastava, member of infectious diseases controlling committee, additional campaign director Dr Satish Pawar and others.
The likely symptoms are fever, bodyache, headache, drowsiness, mental confusion and unconsciousness. The virus is transmitted mainly from animals.

The natural hosts of this virus are fruit bats, which may infect an intermediary that could be a plant, or an animal, consumption of which spreads the disease among humans.

JET Airways to introduce three new flights from Nagpur

JET Airways, looking at the growth in passenger traffic, is going to introduce three new flights from Nagpur.

“There will be direct flights from Nagpur to Allahabad, Indore and Hyderabad. The Nagpur to Hyderabad flight will be starting from June 1 whereas the Nagpur-Allahabad and Indore flights will be starting from June 6”, said Jatinder Nakade, former Chairman of Travel Agents Association of India and Director of Travel Links.”

Jet Airways has planned to start the Nagpur-Hyderabad flight on a daily basis whereas the Nagpur-Allahabad and Nagpur-Indore flights would be for three days in a week, i.e. on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Passengers can ascertain the timings of the flights by logging on to the Jet Airways website or contacting the air travel agent.

These three new flights will be in addition to destinations like Mumbai and New Delhi. The Nagpur-Hyderabad route is witnessing a surge in demand as Hyderabad is an established Information Technology (IT) hub.

Other than Jet Airways, Indigo Airlines already has its presence on the Nagpur-Hyderabad route and operates two flights on a daily basis. With the growth in air passenger traffic shooting up by 20 per cent to 25 per cent per annum, the domestic aviation sector was witnessing a boom. The bookings to these three new sectors had started and were getting a good response at the Travel Links office, said Nakade.

“Initially, Jet Airways has introduced fares at nominal rates with special early bird incentives. The air fares were being quoted on Nagpur-Allahabad sector from Rs 2,634 (including taxes), Nagpur-Indore from Rs 2,818 and Nagpur-Hyderabad from Rs 3,503 as on May 21”, said Nakade. The air fares would change as per the demand and supply, he added. Jet Airways had purchased a large number of 45-seater aircraft and wanted to press them into service to increase their presence by starting flights on new sectors.

IPL 2018 : Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Chennai Super Kings qualifier 1 today

IPL 2018 : SRH vs CSK qualifier 1

IPL 2018 : Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Chennai Super Kings qualifier 1 today

MUMBAI: Not for nothing is Mahendra Singh Dhoni revered by the Chennai Super Kings faithful. Amid the tumultuous existence of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise over the past 11 years, the former India captain has been a constant source of inspiration for the team that has enjoyed remarkable consistency in the tournament.

Dhoni, who has been at the helm of CSK ever since the inauguration of the tournament in 2008, has helped them triumph twice and finish runners-up on four other occasions. He was also the captain of the Rising Pune Supergiant in 2016 when CSK were suspended from the league for a couple of years and was an able ally to skipper Steve Smith when they reached the final in 2017.

Given this enviable track-record, CSK’s loyalists would already be looking forward to another summit clash as their side prepares to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 1 at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday evening. And, they have reasons to justify their confidence: CSK have beaten the Hyderabad outfit on both occasions that they have met in the league stage this season and have an overall advantage of 6-2 in eight clashes.

While CSK escaped to a four-run win, defending 182/3, when the two teams met in Hyderabad on April 22, Dhoni and Co. romped to a comprehensive eight-wicket victory, chasing 180, when the duo clashed in Pune on May 13. To complicate matters, SRH have lost their last three clashes.

As astute a leader as Dhoni is, he is up against a counterpart who has been mighty impressive, having taken over the reins from Australia’s David Warner, who is currently undergoing suspension for his misdemeanours in South Africa. Kane Williamson is one of the finest batsmen today, but few expected the New Zealander to lead the 2016 IPL champions with such conviction this year. He is the only foreign skipper this season, yet he is easily among the most competent.

What’s more, the batsman, who is known for classical stroke-play has left many an observer surprised with the quality of his shot-making in the shortest version of the game. Williamson has amassed 661 runs @ 60.09 in 14 games and notched up as many as eight half-centuries. He has also marshalled his bowling resources magnificently, and his leadership skills came to fore especially on the four occasions when his side defended modest totals.

Dhoni, too, has struck a purple patch, notching up 446 runs at a mighty impressive average of 89.2. The 36-yearold has time and again proved why he has been considered the game’s best finisher for a better part of the past decade. In the process, Dhoni has also ensured that the efforts of Ambati Rayudu (586 runs @ 45.07) and Suresh Raina (391 runs @39.1) have had a strong impact in the final analysis.

Rayudu, in particular, was in terrific form in both the games against SRH hammering 79 and an unbeaten 100. Having been part of the Mumbai Indians squad previously, he knows the Wankhede track well and could prove dangerous if he gets going again. The Aussie veteran Shane Watson too has rediscovered his touch and has contributed 438 runs @ 33.69, batting at the top of the order. Both teams are brilliant. Super stars n team gang. Let”s have fun. Sainath KalpathyPace bowler Shardul Thakur (14 wickets) and all-rounder Dwayne Bravo (11 wkts) have been CSK’s leading wicket takers. Another paceman, Deepak Chahar, enjoyed fruitful outings against SRH in both their meetings taking 3/15 and 1/16, so he will be a difficult customer to contend with SRH.

Vivo X21 With In-Display Fingerprint Sensor set to Launch in India on May 29

Vivo X21
Vivo X21 is set to launch as the company’s latest smartphone in India on May 29. The smartphone will be exclusively available via Flipkart, according to a dedicated page set up by the e-commerce brand.

It mentions “a revolution in fingerprint sensor technology,” which clearly alludes to the under-display fingerprint sensor that the top-end variant of the Vivo X21 offers. After launching the smartphone in China in March, Vivo had introduced the X21 smartphone in international markets for the first time earlier this month.

The key feature of the handset is that a special 128GB variant of the X21 is the mobile maker’s second handset to sport an under display fingerprint sensor, last seen on the Vivo X20 Plus UD launched earlier this year. It means that there is no physical home button or fingerprint sensor and users simply need to touch a circular on-screen fingerprint prompt to unlock their smartphone. However, rest of the models have a regular fingerprint sensor placed on the back.

Notably, it is one of the first few smartphones for which Google has released the Android P Beta update.

As mentioned, the Vivo X21 UD is the company’s second smartphone after the X20 Plus UD to pack an on-screen fingerprint sensor. The Vivo X20 Plus UD was showcased at CES 2018 and then launched in China in January, but never made it to India. However, the company has sent out invites for the launch event of the Vivo X21 in India, and has been alluding to the under-display fingerprint sensor on social media, as well as, in the press invite. The company had earlier hinted at the upcoming launch as well. Currently, there is no information on the pricing and availability of the smartphone in the country. It is expected to compete with the likes of Honor 10 and OnePlus 6 that have launched in India recently.

Vivo X21 UD price, specifications

The Vivo X21 is a mid-range handset. During its China launch, the smartphone was priced at CNY 2,898 (roughly Rs. 29,900) for the regular 64GB variant and CNY 3,198 (roughly Rs. 33,000) for the regular 128GB variant. On the other hand, the special under display fingerprint sensor-equipped 128GB variant — the Vivo X21 UD — was priced at CNY 3,598 (roughly Rs. 37,100). Also, the price of the Vivo X21 in Singapore was set at SGD 799 (roughly Rs. 39,900).

Coming to the specifications, the dual-SIM Vivo X21 runs FunTouch OS 4.0 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. It sports a 6.28-inch full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, coupled with an Adreno 512 GPU, 6GB of RAM and 64GB/ 128GB inbuilt storage options.

In terms of optics, the Vivo X21 bears a vertical rear dual camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.8 aperture) and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor (f/2.4 aperture) with LED flash. On the front is an iPhone X-like notch that houses the 12-megapixel front camera which has features such as a f/2.0 aperture, IR fill light, 3D mapping, and Face Wake facial recognition. There is a 3200mAh battery, with fast charging support, under the hood.

Connectivity options on the Vivo X21 include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0 with OTG support, and GPS. Sensors on the phone include regular fingerprint sensor/ under display fingerprint sensor, gravity sensor. Also proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope. Dimensions of the phone are 154.5×74.8×7.4mm and weight is 156.2 grams.

Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi

Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi starrer Munna Bhai is definitely one of the most loved films. And now, the Munna Bhai-Circuit jodi is all set to return in the next Munna Bhai. Yes, in a recent interview director Rajkumar Hirani has confirmed that the third Munna Bhai film is definitely on the cards.

Rajkumar Hirani is busy with the promotions of his Sanjay Dutt biopic, Sanju. In an interview to Outlook, the filmmaker, who made his debut with 2003 film Munna Bhai MBBS, said that fans may see Sanjay Dutt again as the Bhai and Arshad Warsi as his trusted sidekick.

The two Munna Bhai films – Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai – still have a strong hold on people’s hearts.

In the interview, when asked if the franchise will return, the filmmaker said, “We wanted to do the third Munna Bhai film and even wrote a lot of it, but we were not able to match the script with the first two. Now, I have found something, though we still have to write it.” As per the report, Hirani and his co-author Abhijat Joshi have penned all Munna Bhai films together.

Talking about the success of the two films, Hirani added, “We were all new and naive at the time. While we were filming Munna Bhai MBBS, we didn’t think we were doing some kind of mainstream cinema. I only knew that I was doing a different kind of cinema. More than its commercial success, it fetched us a lot of love and affection from people. I was happy that my family and friends saw it. That joy itself was enough. Never in my life had I thought of anything like this.”

The Sanjay Dutt-Arshad Warsi starrer Munna Bhai series had received immence love by the audience and thus writer Abhijat Joshi had also shared in an earlier report that the team is excited to bring the third part at the earliest.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Munna Bhai MBBS was released in 2003, followed by its sequel, Lage Raho Munna Bhai in 2006. The film features Sanjay Dutt as an affable Munna Bhai and Arshad as his sidekick, Circuit.

In an earlier interview with PTI, Joshi has talked about the third part of the series. “The toughest thing is to match up to what we did in Lage Raho Munna Bhai. We are looking at something that will match the standards of ‘Lage Raho…’. We have an idea in place.

India Successfully Test-Fires BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile from Odisha Coast

India Successfully Test-Fires BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile from Odisha Coast
BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile
India on Monday tested the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from the Odisha coast to validate some features based on new technologies.

BrahMos is the world’s fastest supersonic missile, which can fly at almost three times the speed of sound. The guided cruise missile is being developed jointly by India and Russia, and is named after two rivers – India’s Brahmaputra and Russia’s Moskva.

The missile was test-fired from a mobile launcher at the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur near Balasore at 10.40 am, Defence Research and Development Organisation officials said.

The trial was conducted to validate the “life extension technologies developed for the first time in India”, the Ministry of Defence said. The successful test will help save huge replacement costs of missiles held in the inventory of the Indian Armed Forces, it added.

The successful test of the ‘life extension’ technology indicates that the Indian Armed Forces would be able to make huge savings in the replacement costs of missiles currently in the inventory of the armed forces.

Variants of the supersonic missile can be launched from land, air, sea and underwater, out of which the land and naval variants of the missiles are already in service.

Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman congratulated Team Brahmos and DRDO for the successful launch.

“Smt Nirmala Sitharaman congratulates Team Brahmos and DRDOa for successful flight test carried out at 1040 hrs on 21 May 2018 from ITR, Balasore to validate BRAHMOS missile life extension technologies developed for the first time in India,” the Ministry of Defence said in a tweet.

Nipah virus confirmed in Kerala : Know about its symptoms, precautions and treatment

Nipah virus

The Kerala health department was put on high alert on Monday morning after the death of three members of a family in Kozhikode due to Nipah virus.

At least nine people have died in Kerala’s Kozhikode district due to Nipah virus, an infection which has high fatality rate and spreads mainly through bats, pigs and other animals, state health officials said.

What is Nipah virus (NiV)?

NiV infection can occur in humans or animals. Fruit bats from the Pteropodidae Family are thought to be the natural carriers of the disease.

The first major outbreak of NiV in 1998 that left more than 100 people dead in Malaysia supposedly saw domesticated pigs as the hosts, according to a report by the World Health Organization (WHO). In 2001, the first outbreak occured in India in the state of West Bengal and was attributed solely to fruit bats.

In 2001, many in Bangaladesh fell ill after consuming palm sap which had been contaminated by the fruit bat. WHO also stated that human to human transmission is also seeing a steady rise.

Nipah virus signs and symptoms:

1. Infection with Nipah virus is associated with encephalitis (inflammation of the brain).
2. Respiratory illness during the early part of the infection can also be noticed.
3. 3-14 days of persistent fever and headache, drowsiness, disorientation and mental confusion.
