Mumbai : A fire broke out at an industrial estate in Mumbai’s Andheri area on Tuesday morning.
According to preliminary information, the fire broke out around 10 am at Madhu Industrial Estate, located on new Nagardas Road in Mogra Pada area of Andheri East.
The occupants raised an alarm after seeing a cloud of smoke emanating from the building.
Several fire tenders were pressed into service after the Mumbai Fire Brigade was alerted about the mishap. As of 10:45 am, firefighting is underway.
Officials from Mumbai Police, meanwhile, are helping evacuate the premises.
“Our staff and Fire Brigade is on the spot. They are trying their best to douse the fire and provide necessary help to the people there,” Mumbai police said.
No casualties have been reported in the incident as of publishing this report and an update from officials about the cause of the fire is awaited.
The complex houses dozens of commercial units, with businesses ranging from trading to IT solution providers.
The mishap comes days after a similar blaze had erupted in a commercial unit inside Victoria House building in Kamala Mills, Lower Parel.
The incident, which took place last Friday, did not result in any loss of life and was brought under control before the fire brigade could reach the spot.
