MNS activists booked for rioting, damaging property of NMC

Nagpur : Shanti Nagar Police booked 25 Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists for rioting and damaging the property at Satranjipura Zone office of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Wednesday. MNS activists were demanding cleaning up of Naik Talao and nearby areas.

According to Police, led by MNS leaders Aditya Durugkar, Durgesh Sakulkar, Praveen Waghmare, Roshan Nikhare, Ujwal Hedau, Akash Parteki and 20 others staged demonstrations and damaged the chairs at the office of Satranjipura Zone of NMC.

Following a complaint lodged by Nilkanth Tumsare (40), police registered an offence under Sections 143, 147, 149, 427, 186 of the Indian Penal Code, read with Section 3 of Damage to Public Property Act, against the agitating MNS activists.
