Mayor assures to resolve complaints of citizens

Nagpur : Nanda Jichkar, Mayor, started her public contact campaign on Tuesday, from Prabhag 10 and Prabhag 11 in Mangalwari Zone to understand the problems of citizens. She assured to resolve their complaints as early as possible.

Jichkar was accompanied by Sandeep Jadhav, Chairman of Tax Committee; Manoj Chafle, Chairman of Health Committee; Pintu Zalke, Chairman of Water Works Committee; Bhushan Shingne, NIT Trustee; Sangita Girhe, Chairperson of Mangalwari Zone; Sunil Agrawal, senior corporator; Archana Pathak, Deepak Girhe, Naresh Barde; Ram Joshi, Additional Municipal Commissioner; Vijay Humane, Assistant Commissioner; Girish Wasnik and Manoj Ganvir, Executive Engineers; Dr Sunil Kamble, Health Officer; and Salodkar, Electric Department officer.

Mayor visited Mangalwari, Gorewada, Zingabai Takli, Girhe Layout, Kale and Raut Layout, Alankar Society, Mankapur and Shivaji Complex. The residents of Zingabai Takli complained that they did not have sufficient number of garbage collection points. She said, the citizens should select garbage collection centre for respective area. NMC is searching land for 10 garbage collection centres in all ten zones. She also warned of action against persons dumping garbage in nullah. She directed the officials concerned to clear the nullahs.

The residents of Girhe Layout complained about waterlogging in the area during monsoon for two-three days. Open plots have become mosquito breeding sites and dumping grounds, they said. Mayor directed the officials concerned to remove shrubs from the open plots and issue notices to owners of such plots. She also informed the citizens that a library would be opened in the area for them.

Jichkar also visited Bandhu Nagar, Alankar Society, Shivaji Society and other areas. She directed Orange City Water to repair the leaking pipelines and reconstruct the road. She directed Health Department to catch stray cattle. The residents of Alankar Society demanded installation of street lights in the area.

Recently, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited issued notices to citizens residing in Gorewada as 11 KV line passed through their areas. The citizens demanded that these high-tension cable lines should be underground. Jichkar said, MLA Sudhakar Deshmukh has made a provision of funds for this work.
Mayor will visit Prabhag 1 and Prabhag 9 in Mangalwari Zone on Wednesday.
