Nagpur : Vaibhav Raut emerged the champion in the chess tournament organised during Khasdar Krida Mahotsav at NMC indoor sports complex, Vivekanand Nagar.
In nine-round tournament, Raut, Ansh Dhanvij and Ojas Khamele secured eight points each however on the basis of tiebreaker Rat was declared champion whereas Dhanvij and Khamele finished second and third respectively.
Prizes were distributed at the hands of CPC College Chairman, Mohan Gandhe, Chairperson of Ajinkya Tutorials, Sushma Saraf, Sunil Manekar, Former Corporate Usha Nishitkar, VCA Secretary R N Shriwas, Secretary VCA, Gajanan Nishitkar and Chief Arbiter IA Swapnil Bansod.
Bansod was assisted by FA Deepak Chavan, Umesh Panbude, Shrikant Bagde, Kumbhalkar, Prayas Ambade, Smit Tembhurne, S N Parkhi and Deepak Patrikar.
