Nagpur: Contestant Sanoj Raj from Bihar deserves a round of applause as the very first crorepati of KBC – Season 11. Simple and soft-spoken Sanoj held forth on the coveted Hot Seat battling question after question that came his way with utmost patience and determination.
An IAS aspirant, Sanoj is currently based in Delhi preparing for his UPSC exams. He believes with IAS position, comes the power to bring about a change. His interests lie in Policymaking and its implementation. He wants to make policies regarding health and the environment. According to him, there is a need for stronger policies regarding rainwater harvesting, proper drainage systems in villages and plantation of more trees. When it comes to health, he wants to focus on the issue of malnutrition and the promotion of organic and natural farming.
Sanoj believes in simple living and high thinking. He was a treat to watch whilst on the Hot Seat with Mr. Bachchan encouraging him at every step. Sanoj’s thoughts and ideologies impressed Mr. Bachchan who was appreciative of the fact that we need such strong minded and knowledgeable young guns to positively channelize the future of our country.
But the best part about this episode was the moment when Sanoj was faced with the 1 crore question. The confident young man knew the answer yet used the last remaining lifeline to everyone’s surprise. When asked by AB, why he chose the lifeline when he knew the answer, Sanoj humbly mentioned that since he wouldn’t be able to use the lifeline for the 7crore question, he may as well use it rather than it is going waste! With the audience and AB in split, this moment of Sanoj winning 1 crore on Kaun Banega Crorepati has been etched in history.
On becoming the first crorepati of the season, a visibly happy Sanoj said, “I am feeling ecstatic on this win. It’s a landmark moment in my life and I only intend to move further hereon to achieve many more milestones. I believe hard work, passion and dedication towards your goals will make process of achieving them a lot more enjoyable. At present my joy is short-lived as I am focusing on my UPSC exams which as scheduled starting next week.”
