Jammu & Kashmir: Terrorists hurl grenade at CISF camp; ASI Rajesh Kumar killed in attack

Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) was martyred after terrorists lobbed a grenade at him in Nowgam here. ASI Rajesh Kumar was deployed at a power grid at Wagoora are in Srinagar where he was attacked last night.

The Army has area has cordoned off the area and a search operation is currently underway.

Earlier on Friday, an army soldier Rajendra Singh lost his life when protestors hurled stones at an Army vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir. Sepoy Singh was part of Quick Reaction Team that provided security to a Border Roads Organisation convoy. When the convoy was passing through Anantnag bypass tri-junction, few youths hurled stones at the vehicle and he was hit by a stone. He later succumbed to injuries.

Singh was hit on his head when unidentified individuals hurled stones at the QRT convoy that was passing through the Anantnag tri-junction. Singh, a resident of Badena village in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, had joined the Army in 2016.
