Nagpur: Two COVID-19 patients allegedly died by suicide in a little over 12 hours in Nagpur in Maharashtra, police said on Tuesday.
An 81-year-old Covid patient allegedly hanged himself using an oxygen pipe at the government hospital in Nagpur on Monday. Purushottam Gajbhiye, admitted in the COVID-19 ward of the Government Medical College and Hospital, was found dead in a bathroom by a hospital worker.
The reasons for his step were not clear, said Vinod Chaudhury, a police inspector.
Nagpur On Tuesday, a 64-year-old patient hanged himself in his house at around 6:30 am due to immense pain in his stomach after taking oral medication for COVID-19, the senior inspector of Ajni police station was quoted as saying by news agency PTI
“He and three of his family members had tested positive for the virus on March 26. He was also suffering from kidney stone. The senior citizen hanged himself at 6:30 am,” Mr. Chaudhary added.
