In an interview Shami said he could not make sense of these baseless allegations
“All these allegations have been made against me without any basis. All these are outside my knowledge so I can’t say about it now. We were living together and even celebrated Holi together and we also shopped together even after the South Africa tour.

“I went to Dharamsala to play (Deodhar Trophy) and I heard about all this. Even if I was involved in all this somebody other than my wife would have spoken up. Or some other girl would have complained to my wife about my affair.
