Education must develop knowledge-based society : Mohan Bhagwat

Date:

Nagpur : Knowledge is the foundation of success, growth and prosperity. Present education system is just an explosion of information. A person can get degree, he must have read number of books, he may call self as expert; but this irrational education system can not develop a knowledge based society.

This system is also failed to inculcate wisdom for rational analysis of information,” said Sar Sanghachalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Dr Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday. RSS Chief was addressing as a chief guest of 92nd anniversary of Sevasadan Shikshan Sanstha at its premises at Sitabuldi.

President and Executive Director of Solar Industries India Limited, Satyanarayan Nuwal presided over the function. President of Sevasadan Shikshan Sanstha, Kanchan Gadkari; Secretary Indubala Mukewar; Working President of Ramabai Ranade Memorial Award Committee, Vasanti Bhagwat; Secretary, Pramod Masram, Joint Secretary, Bhagwat Bhange; teacher MLC Nago Ganar also shared dais.

Appreciating the contributions of Sevasadan Shikshan Sanstha to women education, Dr Bhagwat said, “Sevasadan Shikshan Sanstha is constantly working to educate women in society since last 92 years. Started by Ramabai Ranade, the institution is working selflessly and empowered women in real sense.

Women in Indian tradition are termed as ‘Matrushakti’ and development of ‘Matrushakti’ through an education is the greatest service of this institution.” “There is a saying in ancient Vedic scriptures, “Vidyayamrit Mashnute” which means knowledge is nectar (Amrit) and one should pray for acquiring “Vidya”(Knowledge). Here, the objective of Sevasadan Shikshan Sanstha is ‘Sevayamrit Mashnute’. Means the institution is constantly working for the society by giving its selfless service to distribute the nectar of knowledge through education,” he added.

Satyanarayan Nuwal in his presidential address expressed concern over present education system which is failed to develop sensible society. Earlier, a Vidarbha level Ramabai Ranade Smruti Shikshan Puraskar 2019 was given to Sachin and Bhagyashree Deshpande of Abhyudaya Global Village School. The award consists of a cash prize of Rs 51,000, shawl, memento and scroll of honour.
