Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister, will perform bhoomipujan of a Rs 200 crore project by Japanese company Horiba in Butibori industrial estate on July 15. The company is starting the project in Nagpur district in response to an appeal made by Fadnavis to Atsushi Horiba, Founder of Horiba Group, two years ago when he had gone to Chakan in Pune district for a project’s inauguration.
Horiba’s investment in Butibori industrial estate in Nagpur district will house medical factory and central warehouse spread across 12 acres. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping, and Water Resources; Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Guardian Minister of Nagpur district; Krupal Tumane, Ramtek MP; Sameer Meghe, MLA; will be the guests on this occasion. Dr Jai Hakhu, Chairman of Horiba India; Dr Rajeev Gautam, President of Horiba India, also will grace the occasion.
Horiba India is setting up the facility to manufacture cell counter machine and chemicals required thereof. Besides, it will have a world-class central warehouse. The investment in the first phase is pegged at Rs 200 crore. The first phase work is likely to be completed by December 2019. In the second phase, the investment size is expected to be bigger. The project is expected to generate around 1,000 opportunities of direct and indirect employment.

Its companies provide an ‘extensive array of instruments and systems for application ranging from automotive R&D, process and environmental monitoring, in-vitro medical diagnostics, semi-conductor manufacturing and metrology, to a broad range of scientific R&D and QC measurements.’
Horiba India is a subsidiary of Horiba Japan, with a workforce of over 380 employees. It started its operations in India in 2006 with five business verticals including automotive test systems, process & environment, medical, semi-conductor and scientific.
