BYJU’S Education For All and Global Thought Foundation collaborate to educate underserved children across 12 districts in Maharashtra through digital learning

Date:

Nagpur, 18 January 2023: – BYJU’S ‘Education for All’ initiative has collaborated with Mumbai-based NGO Global Thought Foundation to educate and empower children from underserved backgrounds with quality education and digital learning opportunities. As part of the collaboration, BYJU’S Education for All will give free access to premium content to underserved students from municipality schools in Mumbai, ashram schools (schools for the tribals) across 12 districts in Maharashtra including Nagpur, Latur, Buldhana, Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Sangli, and a few schools in West Delhi. The beneficiaries also include wards of police personnel across eight select districts in Maharashtra.

With this partnership, BYJU’S Education For All and Global Thought Foundation will address accessibility challenges to quality education for students, especially for girl children coming from socially marginalised and economically poor backgrounds by introducing them to free learning programmes. These students from classes 4 to 12 will have access to premium content on the BYJU’S learning app, which is customized and digitally-enabled to meet the learning needs of each child. This partnership is an effort to achieve BYJU’S vision of empowering 10 million underserved children across India by 2025.

Speaking about the collaboration, Mansi Kasliwal, VP-Social Initiatives, BYJU’S, said, “We at BYJU’S, seek to transform the educational paradigm through transformative social initiatives for the upliftment of children across different sections of society, making quality education accessible to all. We are elated to partner with Global Thought Foundation, which not only believes in bringing about positive changes in the education sector but also works towards women empowerment in rural and urban poor regions of India. Through this collaboration, we are honoured to be able to help the wards of police personnel and ensure their children are empowered through seamless quality education. Our partnership with them is also a significant step towards making a lasting impact on the development of girl children, who make up 50% of our total beneficiaries.

“Solving the cause of lack of access to equal learning opportunities in rural and urban poor regions in India has been a key focus area for us at Global Thought Foundation. We are glad that through our association with BYJU’S, while we are able to make education available for all, we are also able to focus on promoting Girl Child Education. With like-minded partners like BYJU’S Education For All, we are positive about bringing a lasting impact in the rural regions of the country and help educate as many children as possible”, said Mrs. Vijaya Tai Mankoskar, Trustee, Global Thought Foundation.
