Boy, going to buy chocolate, killed by a speeding car

Nagpur : A four year boy, going to buy a chocolate, was killed after hit by a speeding carin Ahuja Nagar in Jaripatka Police Station area on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Yash Rahul Gavai (4), a resident of Amravati. A police officer informed that the accident occurred at 2.15 pm when Yash, along with cousin Sparsh Rupnarayan (8), was walking to the shop.

The car (MH-49/AH-8768) came in great speed and s truck to the boys who were crossing the road. Yash sustained grievous head injuries and fell unconscious on the road. Sparsh immediately ran towards home that was just 300 metres away from the spot and alerted parents.

They rushed profusely bleeding Yash to Alexis Hospital in the same car. After admitting the boy in the hospital,the car driver immediately sped away from the spot. Yash breathed his last within an hour in the hospital. Police said, Yash along with parents, had come to the house of his maternal uncle – Pranay Gopal Rupnarayan (37), at Plot No. 60, Amarjyoti Nagar, Bhim Chowk – for Diwali vacation.His father returned Amravati while Yash and his mother were staying together at the house. After receiving the tragic news, his mother collapsed and went in shock.

Yash was the only son of Gavai couple. Jaripatka police have registered the case under Sections 279 and 304 (a) of Indian Penal Code.
