Avinash Londhe Bird Expert & Honorary Wildlife Warden Nagpur District organizes Bird week every year. Various programs to create awareness about the importance of the conservation of birdlife and habitats will be held during the week.
November 5th is the birthday of well-known Marathi nature writer Maruti Chitampalli, and November 12th is the birth anniversary of legendary ornithologist late Dr. Salim Ali.
Avinash Londhe who is also the founder of Birds of Vidarbha, says he started BOV in the year July 2013 which only comprised of the core people in the group. Later in the month of August 15th the group was made public.
The Nagpur division of Van Vibhag organizes indoor as well as outdoor programs to create awareness. They also conduct programs around the forest department’s schools and colleges. Maharashtra Forest Department conducts National Level competitions.
