NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu has been elected as the 15th President Of India on Thursday. She is the first Tribal woman to occupy the top constitutional post of the country. Her competition was with the Opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha.
The swearing-in is scheduled to be on July 25th after Mr. Ram Nath Kovind’s tenure ends on July 24.
All eyes will be now on the Vice-presidential elections which are scheduled on August 6. While NDA has filed Jagdeep Dhankhar, Margaret Alva is the opposition’s nominee for the post . Jagdeep Dhankhar was serving as Governor of West Bengal. Margaret Alva served as the Governor of Goa.
