Nagpur: The Enforcement Department of NMC, in major early morning action, started demolishing illegal structures in the lane opposite the Haldiram store near Munje Square in the Sitabuldi area on Monday.
Armed with excavators and huge police protection, the Enforcement Department employees bulldozed shops, residential and other structures as part of the drive.
Tension gripped the area as NMC started the major anti-encroachment drive amid police protection. The mega action was launched following orders from Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B. He has warned that effective action should be seen in all zones daily.
