SONY on Friday morning announced that the much-hyped next-generation PlayStation 5 will be launching in the country on February 2, 2021 while the pre-orders for the same will start on January 12. The gaming console will go on sale via Amazon, Flipkart, Croma and several other online and offline retailers till the stock lasts.
“We are happy tp announce that PS 5 shall be launched in India on 2nd of February 2021 Pre Orders for PS5 shall begin 12PM on the 12th of January and shall be available for Pre-Orders (until stock lasts at respective seller) at Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, Games The Shop, Shop at Sony Center, Vijay Sales and select authorized retail partners,” Sony tweeted from PlayStation’s official Twitter handle.
It also thanked the PlayStation enthusiasts for their patience and enthusiasm around the console. The PlayStation 5 was launched last year in the global markets but was delayed in India due to multiple reasons.

To recall, Sony had revealed the India prices for PS5 as well as the accessories. The PlayStation 5 will cost you Rs 49,990 for the normal edition while the digital edition will set you back by Rs 39,990. The next-generation gaming console will compete against Microsoft’s X line up.
The Dual Sense Wireless Controller will cost you Rs 5,990, the HD camera comes for a Rs 5,190, the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset is for Rs 8,590, the media remote is for Rs 2,590 and the Dual Sense Charging Station is for Rs 2,590.
The PS5 comes with 16GB of GDDR6 RAM. Unlike the PS4 which had the traditional hard drive, the PS5 comes with a solid-state drive (SSD). It also supports 8K graphics, 4K graphics at a 120Hz refresh rate, and 3D audio. What comes as a relief for gamers is that the PS5 will be backward compatible with PS4 games.
