Finance Ministry announced an extension of various tax compliance deadlines

The Finance Ministry on Wednesday announced an extension of various tax compliance deadlines. The due date of furnishing of annual return under Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 for the financial year 2019-20 has been extended by 2 months to 28 February 2021.

While the due date for furnishing of Income Tax Returns by individual taxpayers for FY20 has been extended to 10 January 2021 from 31 December 2020.

The deadline for filing Income Tax Returns for 2019-20 by companies has been extended by 15 days to 15 February 2021.

The last date for a declaration under Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme has been extended to 31 January 2021 from 31 December 2020.
