The primary aim of this Direct Benefit Transfer program is to bring transparency and terminate from distribution of funds sponsored by Central Government of India.
Aadhaar linked Direct Benefit Transfer has helped in removing fake beneficiaries of govt schemes. Aadhaar number, due to its uniqueness property, serves as a natural financial address for sending payments to accounts of beneficiaries through the Aadhaar Payments Bridge (APB). Direct Benefit Transfer with Aadhaar seeding has brought in transparency & plugged leakages. The scale and speed of DBT empowers crores of Indians. DBT led to savings of Rs 57,029 crores in the last 3 years as funds were directly transferred cutting down middle men.

Direct Benefit Transfer brings forth a new dimension to Financial Inclusion. Better targeting of beneficiaries and elimination of middlemen via DBT has saved Rs 57,029 crores of public funds. DBT- Covering more schemes, reaching more people. With DBT enabled govt delivery system, poor have been saved from harassment, bribes and denial of service. A pro-poor policy.
