Farhan Akhtar is to reunite with the director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for sports drama Toofan.
Ealier the two collaborated for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which became a critical and commercial success.
Notable Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on Twitter on Wednesday morning. His Tweet reads, “IT’S OFFICIAL… After #BhaagMilkhaBhaag, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Farhan Akhtar reunite for #Toofan… A heartfelt story of a boxer… Mehra will direct the film.”

Farhan Akhtar also made the announcement on his Instagram account. Rock On actor Shared a throwback picture of him and Rakeysh. He captioned it “Thrilled to share that 6 years after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, @rakeyshommehra and I are reuniting to create #Toofan .. a heartfelt story of a boxer. Hope for your best wishes as we embark on this new journey. Love”
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was based on the life of former Indian sprinter Milkha Singh but Toofan will be a fictional story. In this movie Farhan will be in the role of a boxer. It has been scripted by Anjum Rajabali of Raajneeti fame. Zaira Wasim of Dangal and Secret Superstar fame has reportedly been cast for a key role in the film.
