American search giant Google has entered the Indian e-commerce segment with the launch of its new and immersive shopping experience designed for Indian users.
While Google has launched its shopping experience in India, it will only list the products being sold by other retailers and not sell them directly to users. The Google shopping experience will enable users in India to easily filter through offers, review prices from various leading sellers and find the products they are looking for at their best price.
The Google shopping experience will be available for both mobile and desktop users in English and Hindi.
This shopping experience is available through various Google Products, including a dedicated website, a shopping tab on Google Search, Style Search on Google Lens as well as a Progressive Web App (PWA) that has been designed for users with entry-level phones.
Starting with Google Search, when a user searches a product using Google Search, they will find a new Shopping tab in addition to All, Images, Maps and News tabs. Once you click on the search tab, you will find various listings for the product from various retailers along with filters on the basis of price, style, seller and more. The Shopping tab will allow users to search for a product and then it will show product lists, local store inventory and review prices from across multiple retailers.
