Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff inaugurates Khasdar Mahotsav in Nagpur

Nagpur : The most awaited cultural fest “Khasdar Mahotsav” began in grand way at Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical education ground.

All the dignitaries on the dais lit the lamp. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari feted actors Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff with shawl, shrifal, a memento and a bouquet. MLC Anil Sole welcomed Gadkari. Jaiprakash Gupta welcomed Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. Anil Sole made introductory remarks.

Present on the stage besides Gadkari and the two actors were Jaiprakash Gupta, MLC Anil Sole, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Kanchan Gadkari, Mayor Nanda Jichkar, ZP President Nisha Sawarkar, MLC Girish Vyas, Rajesh Bagdi and others.

RJ Gaurav then took over and involved Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff in an impromptu interview, that was interspersed with songs from their films, rendered by artists from the musical event ‘Yado Ka Chala Karawan’ in which they too joined .

Artists Madan Shukla, Sonali Karnik, Shrikant Narayan, Prasad Mahadkar, Sampada Goswamy, Alok Katdhare rendered solos and duets. Songs from the film ‘Yudh’ which was the first film in which Jackie and Anil Kapoor acted, made the two nostalgic.

“This is not just a cultural entertainment, but an attempt to provide our generation next with better infrastructure like roads, homes, education, skill development and make them aware about our rich cultural heritage,”  Nitin Gadkari, after inaugurating the second edition of Khasdar Mahotsav.
