Nagpur : An eight-year-old boy left home on Tuesday after being scolded by mother for not concentrating on studies. Shockingly, the boy walked on the railway track for five kilometers barefoot and reached railway station where personnel of Railway Protection Force (RPF) spotted and rescued him. He was later reunited with his parents.
An RPF official informed that the boy was a resident of Naik Talav area. His father works in a shop while mother is a home maker. On Tuesday, his mother pulled him up for not concentrating on the studies. He got an earful from mother because of his falling academic performance.
The upset boy then left the house barefoot and in undergarments. Walking on the railway tracks, the boy reached the main railway station during afternoon hours. He was sitting on a bench at closed narrow-gauge platform and enjoying chocolate.
Vikas Sharma, an RPF constable, who was patrolling the area, grew suspicious and asked the boy about his parents. The boy told his parents’ name and surname but was unable to narrate address of his house. He told him ‘Naik talaab’ as address. Sharma then contacted former corporator of the area – Sanjay Jaiswal – and urged him to locate his parents by searching name in the voter list. After getting address, Jaiswal contacted the parents and took them to the RPF post and reunited them with the boy.
