Nagpur: A minor girl was repeatedly raped for over three days in Nagpur by a man who also falsely promised to marry her. The 17-year-old victim was also asked to elope with the accused and when he abandoned her, she registered a police complaint with the police.
The accused is currently on the run and police have launched a manhunt to nab him. The accused was identified as Vaibhav Vilas Tupate and he had allegedly first talked to her after dropping his phone number to her.
The accused hails from Bramhpuri district, Belgaum and worked at a local dabha. The accused’s mother was also a worker in the same place and they had gotten acquainted. Around four days ago the accused went to the girl’s house. While talking to the girl’s mother, he wrote his mobile number on a piece of paper and slipped it her daughter.
Later, the victim called him and Tupate asked her to meet him near the dabha. The girl reached there and accused proposed to her and said that he wanted to marry her. The teenager accepted his proposal and immediately, the accused took her to a secluded place and raped her. After this incident, he took her at various locations for three consecutive says and raped her repeatedly.
Later, he took her to his friend’s flat and the girl opposed the accused and asked him about his marriage promise. Upon being confronted, he told the victim that she should bring her clothes from her house and they we elope and get married. The victim trusted him and on Friday afternoon, she reached Sonba Nagar at the place mentioned by the accused. However, she tried to call him but he not respond to her calls and realising that she had been taken advantage of, a complaint against accused Vaibhav Tupate was registered.
